Edmonton Marathon 2016

I wasn't suppose to shoot any of these photographs. I was actually on my way to a local coffee shop to grab a post workout chai and saw a few friends running down the middle of Jasper Avenue and thought that's weird, where's all the cars? There's always so much going on in this city. As I walked closer to all the action I did recall that this was the weekend that the 26 miler was going down.

Luckily I had my instamatic pocket camera (Sony mirrorless DSLR) with a 50mm lens only and thought wtf I'll take a few photos. I had to get pretty close to all the runners with such a short lens and the strong sunlight created some harsh contrasty shooting conditions. A challenge indeed but I worked it to my advantage and got into the flow. Love this city and the way people transform its urban landscape into a theatre for artists to have some fun.
